Trend Setters College of Cosmetology - A Paul Mitchell Partner School How We Give Back

In the past five years, Paul Mitchell Schools have donated their time and more than $2.5 million in support of many charitable causes. In conjunction with our own nonprofit organization, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, we’ve built two homes through Habitat for Humanity; fed thousands of African orphans; provided resources for caregivers through the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation; provided hair care services for the poor and homeless; helped beauty industry professionals in the wake of natural disasters; and supported the victims of AIDS, breast cancer, homelessness, domestic abuse, and hundreds of other causes, to name just a few.

"People in need are not just those who line up at a soup kitchen on Thanksgiving Day," says Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh. "At Paul Mitchell Schools, giving back is an ongoing attitude about how we do business."

John Paul Mitchell Systems Chairman and CEO John Paul DeJoria adds, "It’s about each of us paying more than our share of rent on this planet in order to help many people have much better lives or even have the chance to live one. What a great culture that is!"

SPLIT THE POT RAFFLE! Nationwide Paul Mitchell School Annual FUN-raising Event BE NICE (OR ELSE!) Be Nice (or Else) Team will be hosing a Split the Pot Raffle with the winner to be drawn on April 25, 2010. Stop in and get your tickets (1 for $1 or 6 for $5) Paul Mitchell Schools across the country will spend the months of February, March, and April raising money and awareness for seven charitable organizations. This year’s supported organizations include the Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation, the Larry King Cardiac Foundation, the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, City of Hope, Food 4 Africa, Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer Movement and the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.

Creating Magic Days Be Nice (or Else!) Every Wednesday and Saturday the Be Nice (or Else!) team members will be creating magic within our campus. We have been greeted with Hugs, candy, cookes and huge smiles. Can't wait to have my day made by the amazing team. Having a bad day? Stop in at TrendSetters to put a huge smile on your face!

Salvation Army Christmas Charity Our Be Nice (or Else!) Team from TrendSetters College, A Paul Mitchell Parnter School volunteered their time away from school to RING the Christmas Bell for Charity. The "miracle" of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing.The traditional red kettle is an integral part of the Christmas scene, with millions of dollars donated each year to aid needy families, seniors, and the homeless, in keeping with the spirit of the season. Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities, along with seasonal aid. Families of prisoners often are included. Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing homes, and shelters are open for sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten. Many families receive aid over a period of months after the Christmas season as well, people struggling with difficult family, emotional, or employment problems. Angel Tree Red Kettles

Toys for Tots Toys for Tots, Kankakee County The Be Nice (or Else!) Team from TrendSetters College will be hosting a Baked Goods Sale on November 21, 2009 all day. All the proceeds will go towards purchasing Toys for Tots. Please stop by to bring an unwrapped toy, purchase a baked good or to donate money.
